Local rockers rev things up with debut disc.
The Skinny
Like many modern bands, Motorway was formed as the result of its members'
dissatisfaction with their previous respective musical projects. Bassist Peter
Winkler was in the punk trio Of Human Bondage when he decided he was more of a
pop songwriter, and hooked up with guitarist Colin Brown and OHB drummer Eric
Padua.
Two years into its existence, having amassed a healthy fan base in New Orleans, Motorway now releases its debut album, "Underwater Demolition." A variety of stylistic influences infuse Motorway's material, primarily straight modern rock with an easy rootsy feel. The band employs the lyrical clichés that fans of pop rock will eat up.
